Dear Community.
I hope this email finds you well and enjoying moments of gentleness as we shift into fall.
I'm excited to share two intimate workshops this October, inviting you to explore grief and creativity through writing and community. These sessions are open to anyone who has experienced grief or is curious about writing as a healing practice.
Together, we’ll deepen our connections with ourselves and each other.
Grief Writing Workshop
When: Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 3-5 PM
Where: The Vortex in Benicia
Join us in a supportive space to share and co-create healing energy around our experiences of grief. All are welcome, regardless of writing experience. Whether you seek to express your feelings, connect with others, or explore grief through writing, you are warmly invited.
Intuitive Writing Workshop
When: Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:30-3:30 PM
Where: Indigo Yoga Studio
In this workshop, we’ll tap into our inner voices and harness the power of intuition in our writing. It's a wonderful opportunity to discover new creative pathways and express yourself freely. Again, everyone is welcome, and no prior writing experience is necessary.
Thank you for being a part of my community. I am truly grateful for each of you and the shared journeys we embark on together. Your presence and support mean the world to me.
As we navigate these workshops and our writing practices, I’m reminded of the strength and connection we foster in this space. Together, we create a warm and nurturing environment where healing and creativity can flourish.
Looking forward to sharing these workshops with you!
Warmly,
Dina

Honoring Grief: A Writing Invitation
As we transition into fall, I wanted to share a beautiful prayer for honoring grief by Pixie Lighthorse. It’s a gentle reminder of the importance of embracing our feelings during this season of inner reflection and restoration.
I invite you to find a quiet space in your home, light a candle, and set a timer for 15 minutes (or however long you have). Allow yourself to drop into the prayer and your writing practice, honoring whatever may be moving through you.
Thank you for helping me see my broken pieces as beautiful and worthy. Thank you for helping me lay into the earth what has become oppressive on my soul, and for helping me see the importance in my courage to feel.
Scrub my body, heart and mind of their accumulated stresses and unaddressed anguish. Let me stop the abuses and misfortunes from telling my future. Help me author my personal story of strength and perseverance while ripping me for rebirth. Let me strip off unwanted debris with my hands and behold how feasible it is for me to move my own energy.
Help me see my offerings like fallen leaves that nourish the bustling hungry communities of unseen beneficials living below the surface. Let the intensity of the weight I've been carrying, feed the soil of my spirit. Help me plant the seeds of tomorrow's wellness and water them with my tears. Let every creaking wail of sorrow be an investment in the freedom of tomorrow.
When my griefs begin to release, let me feel the lightening of my heart like a dandelion, setting free its seed-wishes. Let these composted traumas and hopes for the future quell my desire for an endless summer. Cover them gently in preparation for nature's season of reflection and restoration.
Open me to recurrent occasions of self-cleaning for giving my spirit, body and mind the precious attention it is asking for. Make me an enthusiastic gardener for my well-being. Fill me with willingness to allow downtime when I have done what I can do for now.
I trust you to finish the job in my dreams while I rest.
Here are some writing reflections and possible prompts to guide you:
What does grief feel like for you right now?
How does the changing season mirror your emotions?
In what ways can you honor your grief through creative expression?
What memories surface as you reflect on your losses?
What do you need to let go of this fall to make space for healing?
Remember, this time is for you. As we embrace the beauty of the season, can you carve out a little space for yourself?
