Thank you for allowing me to take up space each week in your inbox and day. Time and space are valuable, and I sincerely appreciate your support and engagement.

Now, through November 26, I am offering 1/2 off the cost.
We bring our own stories, sit and write alone and together, listen and learn from one another, and slowly, over time, word after word, we heal and restore.
I hope to see you there!
Below our strangeness, we see each other. We know the enthusiasm of enjoyment, the awe of wonder, and the ache of loss.
We are all born with the same nameless heart, together under love. We all break and blossom in similar ways, yet unique.
We long for something that seems out of reach, searching outside ourselves for completion, love, happiness, and peace. A hunger hidden, we crave to be seen, heard, held, uncovered, and released.
In the yearning, our soul beckons us to awaken to the unchanging and luminous light within – to that ageless and wise place born before our bodies and that which will live on long after we decay back into the earth.
In the Yoga tradition, this is often called our True Nature, Pure Consciousness, or Pure Awareness. It is limitless and infinite beyond measure. It is the core of our being.
We are conditioned to avoid pain and discomfort. That change and uncertainty are something to fear and to doubt the genuineness of our emotions and inherent capacity to feel, give, and receive love.
Like the Buddha, love rests at the center of our soul. Though we sometimes doubt its existence, love does not demand much. It asks us to be still, lean in, listen, and let it safeguard the way.
Underneath the drive of the day-to-day, the growing to-do list, the soul waits. Sometimes patient and sometimes begging you to notice.
We don't have to go far. Hidden in the depths of the ancient forest, abundant in fresh soil, prominently rooted trees reach their canopies, darkening the sky so that our light can shine in the shadows.
When we slow to nature's pace and step outside the momentum of our days, put down the distractions, and turn towards the ache and darkness instead of being afraid, we will find connection, comfort, insight, and grace. We will find the inner strength, stability, and ease we aspire to when we learn to rest with what is instead of resisting the power of presence.
When we allow ourselves to align with the current of joy instead of grasping at its attention and fixation out of worry that sadness will define us or that happiness is fleeting and too good to last, we will find a surviving spring of innocence and radiance within.
The soul's journey is not destined in the direction of shame and sentence, for it trusts in the timing of transformation. Like a snake shedding its skin and a caterpillar creating a cocoon, the soul solicits us towards the deep waters of rest, mourning, and the dreaminess of the unknown, for it is sage in recognizing at the moment of death, it is reborn.
It voyages to permanent peace, understanding, joy, and our undying relationship to ourselves, the Divine, and the ancestors we have lost, uniting us as we learn to love ourselves back together.
This piece was inspired by Mark Nepo's poem, Below Our Strangeness, and was written in Intuitive Writing for Women.

What is your relationship with your soul?
Grab a pen and paper or your favorite journal. Use the prompts or jump-off lines as a place to begin.
Set your timer. Write for 15 minutes, pen never leaving the page. See what words flow. Try not to get caught up on the need to perfect or have it sound good.
If you are unsure where to begin, begin with "I don't know what to write" and repeat it until more words pour from the tip of your pen.
I would love to hear about your journey and experience with the prompts and process. Hit reply to share or leave a comment.
